S. Carolina woman ordered a yoga mat; $400,000 in illegal drugs unexpectedly arrived with it!

A South Carolina woman’s mail delivery was anything but routine as her postal carrier handed her thousands of dollars worth of illegal drugs.

The unidentified Rock Hill woman was expecting a yoga mat she had ordered from Walmart but got the shocking delivery instead as the mail carrier handed her a box and a bag of pills which had apparently spilled from it,  WSOCTV reported.

She told the station that there were so many pills they were spilling out of the package. In fact, more than 20,000 oxycodone pills were handed to her, worth about $400,000. She immediately called the police about the box which was shipped from Newport Beach, California.

According to York County drug unit commander Marvin Brown, “vacant apartments, homes where people have gone to work for the day,” are usually where drugs are shipped as someone can be there to await the arrival of the package.

Brown speculated that the package may have been meant for delivery to the woman’s former address at a condo which is now vacant.  Someone may have been using that address as a drop point, he said. The post office  forwarded the package to her current address after noticing the misspelled street name on the package.

“The dealers weren’t as intelligent as they thought they were,” Brown said.

The woman’s neighbor, Nicole Riddle, was reportedly stunned by the delivery.

“It’s scary to think that something like that could be right down the road and so, I’ll say, easily accessible,” she said.

Rock Hill police have confiscated the pills as evidence and officers believe they are counterfeit oxycodone, pressed from powder into pills in Mexico. Brown’s team will be trying to uncover the package’s origin and its ultimate destination as well as who it was intended for, WSOCTV reported.
