Regnery — the No. 1 publisher of conservative books, cut ties with the New York Times — calling its best sellers list a fraud that’s rigged to give preference to leftist books.
Marji Ross, president of Regnery Publishing, released this statement: “The Times’ list does not represent national sales of conservative books as accurately as other widely-published bestseller lists. Therefore, we will no longer promote, publicize or frankly even bother to mention this list.”
Ross added: “Instead, we will continue to track sales, as a large number of media groups do, through Nielsen’s BookScan report, and we will use the Publisher’s Weekly bestseller list as our benchmark.”
Regnery, which has been in business since 1947, has published books by Laura Ingraham, Dinesh D’Souza, Mark Levin, and Ann Coulter.
The group decided to no longer recognize the New York Times best sellers list after D’Souza’s new book, “The Big Lie: Exposing the Nazi Roots of the American Left,” was ranked No. 7 even though it sold more than the other six books ahead of it.
D’Souza’s book was either No. 1 or No. 2 in sales for the past four weeks, but was only No. 7 on the latest NYT list.

Rumors about the New York Times’ fake bestsellers list have swirled for years. The list is supposed to rank books based on actual sales, but that has often not been the case.
The leftist newspaper has routinely placed left-leaning books ahead of conservative ones on its “bestsellers” list even when they sell fewer copies.
This claim is easily provable, as book sales are tallied every week by Nielsen BookScan.
For years, the NYT best sellers list has been rigged based on what New York Times editors believe “should be” on the list. Meanwhile, consumers are fraudulently led to believe the list reflects actual books sold.

“There’s been a lot of talk about the New York Times being fake news, but now we can see the New York Times best sellers list is also fake,” Dinesh D’Souza told WND. “This, I think is a real violation of trust.”
“It’s one thing to skew your opinion a certain way, or to spin even the news a certain way, but a best seller list is a little bit like stock prices. People look to the New York Times best sellers list the way that people look at the Wall Street Journal to find out the price of a stock.
You never dream that the Journal might be rigging the price of a stock to what they think it should be, as opposed to what it is.”
D’Souza continued: “It’s particularly important for people to know that this list is not actually a list of the books that are selling the most, but a list that the New York Times thinks should be selling the most. I think this is a scandal, something posing as objective data that is actually rigged.”
D’Souza is not spotlighting the New York Times’ fraud because he has “best-seller list envy,” since he has had three No. 1 bestsellers over the years (maybe more, if the list were accurate).
“The prejudice isn’t against me alone, it’s against books the New York Times doesn’t editorially approve of,” he said.
A New York Times rep denied the allegations.
Regnery president Marji Ross said this is just the beginning of exposing the New York Times’ longstanding fraud. “I think we just reached a tipping point,” she told WND. “You get to the point where you’ve said, ‘I’ve had enough.'”
