Watch ABC shamelessly exploit hurricane victims to push pro-DACA propaganda

Leftists never let a tragedy go to waste. Accordingly, ABC News shamelessly exploited Hurricane Harvey victims to promote its pro-DACA propaganda.

ABC News host Martha Raddatz spotlighted a family of illegal immigrants who say they’re afraid of being deported after being rescued. (Maybe they should have thought of that before they came to the country illegally.)

“Houston has one of the highest populations of so-called ‘Dreamers’ [Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors] in the country,” Raddatz said. “We met one of them: 15-year-old Jasmine Medrano.”

Medrano told Raddatz: “My biggest fear is for us to get deported. For my family, all the hard work that they have done. To just be thrown away, and go back to how we were. And for me, to not be able to study. It’s a lot. And I still have to worry about going back to school. So it’s kind of stressful.”

Raddatz conveniently left out that the Medrano family would not have needed rescuing if Houston’s idiotic Democratic mayor, Sylvester Turner, had issued an evacuation order — as suggested by Texas’ Republican governor, Greg Abbott.

Raddatz also neglected to mention that Houston is a sanctuary city, so illegals are safe from deportation. Moreover, officials announced during Hurricane Harvey that no one will be asked about their immigration status.

So ABC News manufactured a faux DACA crisis to win public sympathy to push their pro-illegal immigration propaganda.

Martha Raddatz brought up the Medrano family’s sob story to Texas governor Greg Abbott, and asked what can be done to protect illegals like them. Meanwhile, Raddatz and other leftist activists said nothing when Barack Obama quietly deported 2.5 million illegal aliens — more than any U.S. president.

Abbott underscored that Congress has to reform immigration laws to ensure that immigrants enter the United States legally. That’s what’s in the best interests of all immigrants, and the country.

“The best place to get into is the United States of America,” Abbott said (see video via Media Research Center). “And we need to make sure we keep America that shining city on the hill that people aspire to.”

He added: “If congress reforms the immigration system, there will be ways in which America needs to continue to attract immigration through the legal system.”

Barack Obama enacted DACA in 2012 to give children who were brought to the U.S. illegally a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and eligibility for a work permit. More than 800,000 illegals have received DACA protections since 2012, and that number is quickly rising.
