Kid Rock came out swinging at “fake news” claims that he is in violation of election law and teased a coming “political revolution.”
The musician was accused by a watchdog group of not registering himself as a candidate for a U.S. Senate seat in Michigan or reporting campaign donations, according to the Detroit Free Press. The complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission by the group Common Cause asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to look into alleged filing violations by Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie.

“Given the activities we’ve documented in the complaint, he can’t reasonably claim to be merely testing the waters of candidacy and thus exempt from candidate filing requirements,” Common Cause’s Paul S. Ryan said. “He is a candidate and is obligated to abide by all the rules.”
The 46-year-old rocker had a simple response: “go f*** yourselves.”

In a statement released Friday, Kid Rock laid down the facts:
I am starting to see reports from the misinformed press and the fake news on how I am in violation of breaking campaign law.
#1 I have still not officially announced my candidacy.
#2 See #1 and go fuck yourselves.
Everyone else, Have a great Labor Day (I will be spending mine WORKING in one of the greatest cities in America – Grand Rapids, Michigan!!)
Rock on.
Kid Rock
He has not officially even declared himself a candidate, but Kid Rock is already establishing the rules for his relationship with “fake news” outlets.
Though he has not definitively announced that he intends to run against the Democratic incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Kid Rock has made some remarks and declared the website, “kidrockforsenate.com,” which he launched in July, was “real.”
“We will be scheduling a press conference in the next 6 weeks or so to address this issue amongst others,” he wrote on the website, “and if I decide to throw my hat in the ring for US Senate, believe me… it’s game on mthrfkers.”
The rocker and Trump supporter made headlines earlier this year when he visited the White House alongside former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and musician Ted Nugent.
On Thursday, there appeared to be another tease for a potential Kid Rock U.S. Senate run.
