A man who fights to spread the wealth of others is now living quite the high life himself.
Former President Barack Obama is set to be America’s most expensive ex-president and his post White House living confirms it.
Obama will cost taxpayers $1,153,000 next year, according to a Congressional Research Service memo, which would make his expenses the highest of the five living ex-presidents, The Washington Times reported.

His budget request for 2018 surpasses that of George W. Bush’s request by more than $100,000 and is nearly $200,000 more than the budget request from Bill Clinton. Former presidents George H.W. Bush will receive $942,000, and Jimmy Carter just $456,000.
The 1958 Former Presidents Act provides past commanders-in-chief with lifetime benefits after leaving office, including an annual base pension of $205,700. But the former presidents may submit budget requests to Congress requesting additional expenses like office allowances, travel and Secret Service protection.
According to the Washington Times:
By far the biggest cost for ex-presidents is renting office space. Mr. Obama’s office — 8,198 square feet in D.C. — will cost taxpayers $536,000 next year, the most of any ex-president. Mr. Clinton’s New York office is bigger, at 8,300 square feet, but slightly cheaper at $518,000. The younger Mr. Bush’s office in Dallas is $497,000, while his father’s space in Houston is $286,000. Mr. Carter’s Atlanta office is just $115,000.
Mr. Obama’s pension payment is also the highest, at $236,000. Mr. Clinton is second with $231,000, followed by the younger Mr. Bush at $225,000, the CRS memo says, citing figures from the General Services Administration, which administers the 1958 Former Presidents Act.
Obama’s vacations while in office were a sore point during his administration as the expensive getaways cost Americans thousands of dollars. But the former First Family didn’t let an address change affect the jet-setting lifestyle once President Trump moved in, setting off on a 10-day Indonesian vacation and spending time at luxurious locations like the Mid Pacific Country Club in Oahu and Italy’s Borgo Finocchieto hotel. The former president and first lady arrived at the Tuscan retreat aboard a private plane escorted by six fighter jets and whisked away in a 13-car motorcade to the private villa where the stay costs regular folk $15,000 per night.

But when they are not vacationing, the Obamas now enjoy living in their far-from-modest Washington, D.C. area home which cost a cool $8.1 million, making it the second-most expensive home in a very expensive neighborhood.
They are also reportedly looking to buy a $15 million vacant lot on Martha’s Vineyard, according to Realtor.com.
Actor James Woods noted the irony for the former community organizer.
Community organizer to buying $15,000,000 worth of dirt. Neat trick. So the Clintons aren’t the only public servants to cash in, it seems. https://t.co/val2Q0EIBf

According to the piece published by Robert Laurie:
Enter former President Barack Obama: a man who wants to ‘spread the wealth around’ and who once famously said ‘at a certain point you’ve made enough money.’
…According to Realtor.com, he’s looking to purchase one of two vacant lots on his favorite vacation Island, Martha’s Vineyard. Of course, he doesn’t want to live inland like some commoner, so both properties are ocean front. They’re also not cheap. The man who wonders when ‘enough is enough’ is looking at plots that start at $12 million and, remember, that’s without a house.
That’s not too shabby.
