Delta has the nerve to respond to Ann Coulter’s angry tweetstorm with a scolding. Her response …

Delta Airlines responded to conservative columnist Ann Coulter’s Twitterstorm after she was bumped from a preferred seat designed to accommodate her tall frame.

What’s worse, the flight attendant who moved her didn’t know why she was being bumped, and the person who took the preferred seat was another woman — of apparent smaller stature.

But the commercial air carrier’s reply appeared less-than-genuine. After initially extending its “sincere apology” to the firebrand author, along with a request to continue the conversation via direct message to “HJB,” it apparently had second thoughts.

It sent out two tweets — the first saying it would refund Coulter’s $30 seat upgrade, an indication of what value Delta placed on her customer complaint.

The second tweet criticized Coulter for voicing her complaint in the first place, which seems to fly in the face of customer relations 101.

Was her rant over-the-top? of course, but that’s Coulter’s style. Some of her fans believed it was another example of sock it to the conservatives.

Other Delta horror stories began pouring in.

One agreed this was typical for Delta — unless you have status. Being a conservative writer is apparently not considered status with the carrier.

But she also had lots of critics, and one voice of reason stood above the rest with the message: Wait until it happens to you.

Last December two YouTube pranksters went on a similar social media rant after they were bumped from a Delta flight for alarming a score of other passengers by speaking furtively to one another in Arabic. They recorded the entire episode, leading one to conclude this was just another one of their pranks, and they did it in hopes they’d get thrown off the flight.

Delta’s response to that incident was 180 degrees different.

“Two customers were removed from this flight and later rebooked after a disturbance in the cabin resulted in more than 20 customers expressing their discomfort,” Delta wrote. “We’re conducting a full review to understand what transpired. We are taking allegations of discrimination very seriously; our culture requires treating others with respect.”

Hell hath no fury like a bumped Ann Coulter… what did Delta think would happen?

Too bad Coulter isn’t Muslim. Instead, she’s just a tall, leggy blonde with a conservative voice.
