It was as though they moved her desk out to the parking lot while she was at lunch.
MSNBC ended its association with long-respected TV news anchor and legal analyst Greta Van Susteren after fewer than six months — and did so within mere hours of her scheduled 6 p.m. appearance on her program, “For The Record.”
The first inkling anyone had received of it was when she tweeted five short words to her followers.
I am out at MSNBC –

Stranger yet, Ali Velshi, her last minute Thursday night replacement, never mentioned the change in lineup or Van Susteren’s absence from the set. It was as if she’d never been there.
MSNBC president Phil Griffin announced her dismissal from the network to his staff in an internal memo, a portion of which was published by Politico.
“MSNBC and Greta Van Susteren have decided to part ways,” Griffin’s memo said. “Greta is a well-regarded veteran and one of only a few broadcasters who can say they’ve hosted shows at all three major cable news networks. We are grateful to her and wish her the best. Please join me in wishing Greta well as she departs. We have enjoyed having her on our air and we’re thankful to her and the show team.”
MSNBC chief legal correspondent, Ari Melber, who also hosts “The Point” on the weekends, is scheduled to permanently take over the slot.
An MSNBC executive told Politico that the reason for the split, described as “amiable,” was that the numbers “weren’t there” despite the network’s support for the show.
Support? For five-and-a-half months? That’s it? Not to mention that the 6 p.m. time slot is brutal, as it’s opposite network news programs, including Fox News Channel’s popular “Special Report.”
Van Susteren began her TV news career in 1994 as co-host of CNN’s “Burden of Proof” and as a CNN legal analyst during the 1995 O.J. Simpson murder trial.
In 2002 she moved over to Fox News Channel, where she hosted “On The Record” until 2016. In 2016, Forbes listed Van Susteren as the 94th most powerful woman in the world.
And this is how MSNBC treats a legend? Yet it keeps idiots like Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes, along with race-baiters like Joy Reid and Al Sharpton.
And MSNBC wonders why it’s always at the bottom of the ratings pile.
Many of Van Susteren’s fans and followers believed it was a bad fit for her from the beginning. And given the way the network treated her, it’s had to argue that she’s too good for MSNBC.
Was not a good fit at all. She is a real journalist, not a liar.

You are always awesome on any channel lucky enough to have you.
MSNBC, FNC & CNN are weaker without you!
Have a happy hiatus!

Here’s an idea most of her fans would welcome.
ASAP! We want her back at FOX!
