CNN’s Van Jones appeared to agree with President Trump on the Russia narrative in a new undercover video released by Project Veritas
“The Russia thing is just a big nothing burger,” the liberal commentator said in the video, apparently not aware he was being filmed. “There’s nothing there you can do.”
The video is the second in a series titled “American Pravda,” and follows release of the first video on Monday of CNN producer John Bonifield admitting that the Trump-Russia story is “mostly bullsh*t.”
Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe revealed the news of the footage on Twitter just after three CNN journalists were fired for a false story about investigations of former Trump adviser Anthony Scaramucci for ties to Russia. CNN reportedly faced a $100 million libel lawsuit due to the story.

Jones has been critical of Trump in the past for his response to allegations of Russian ties to the Trump campaign and Russian interference with the U.S. election. In December, the former Obama Green Jobs czar criticized Trump’s relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Other Presidents tried to say nice things about the Russians — not in the face of an active attack on the country!” Jones said.
Though the Project Veritas video only features a few words spoken by Jones, his “nothing burger” remark is well on its way to countless tweets and memes as reactions came in on social media.
