Republican Sen. Richard Burr issued an epic shut down of a Democratic committee member who repeatedly interrupted witnesses in a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.
The North Carolina senator and chair of the committee suspended California Sen. Kamala Harris from speaking on Wednesday after she refused to let Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein answer the questions she was leveling at him.
Sen. @KamalaHarris keeps interrupting witnesses and implying bad motives. The chair had to interrupt and remind her sternly to be courteous.

This followed a heated exchange Harris had with NSA Director Mike Rogers whom she also kept interrupting.
NSA Director Mike Rogers: “Senator, if you could, could I get to respond, please, ma’am?”
Sen @KamalaHarris: “No, sir. No. No.”
Rogers: “OK” pic.twitter.com/fcCLNqXLZ2— Kenneth P. Vogel (@kenvogel) June 7, 2017
Rosenstein attempted to answer the Democratic senator’s question about the integrity of special counsel Robert Mueller. But Harris cut him off to grandstand about assurances that the director was fully independent.

“Sir, if I may, the greater assurance is not that you and I believe in Mueller’s integrity…it is that you would put in writing an indication based on your authority as the acting attorney general that he was full independence,” she said as Rosenstein appeared to look annoyed.

“He has the full independence as authorized by those regulations,” he began to respond before he was again cut off by Harris.
Apparently, at this point, Burr had had enough and scolded Harris.
“The senator will suspend. The chair is going to exercise his right to allow the witness to answer the question,” Burr said. “The committee is on notice to provide the witnesses the courtesy, which has not been extended all the way across, extend the courtesy for questions to get answered.”
Kamala Harris is getting schooled for grand standing and interrupting Rosenstein…haha stfu Democrat

Harris pressed on, disregarding Burr’s direction.
“Mr. Chairman, respectfully, I would like to point out that this witness…” she began, but the committee chairman was not playing.
“Mr. Rosenstein, will you … the senator will suspend. Mr. Rosenstein, would you like to fully answer the question?” Burr asked.
“The truth is, I have a lot of experience with these issues and I could speak for a very long time about it,” Rosenstein responded, seeming grateful to be given the chance to finally speak.
Of course, liberals erupted into claims of sexism.
Silencing @SenKamalaHarris for not being “courteous” enough is just unbelievable. Keep fighting, Kamala! #NeverthelessShePersisted https://t.co/58y15qWVzU

Just now in the Intel hearing: A male GOP senator (Burr) tells a female Dem senator (Harris) to pipe down. Where have we seen this before?
— Ed O’Keefe (@edatpost) June 7, 2017
Wow. I saw it, but didn’t grasp the sexism. I too am conditioned to this social norm. Thanks for pointing it out. https://t.co/Lz3bEO9yuV
— Carol Neatherton (@ccneat4) June 7, 2017
You “didn’t grasp the sexism” because it wasn’t there. @SenKamalaHarris wasn’t letting a witness answer and the Chair told her to pipe down.
— Steven Rosenblum (@StevenRosenblum) June 7, 2017
She was warned but @KamalaHarris will Persist! We won’t be silenced. #TheResistance https://t.co/WXWBilgORc

Burr’s casual racism and sexism must not be allowed to stand.
— Kenneth Jimenez (@MrKennyJimenez) June 7, 2017
So she should get a pass for being obnoxious because she’s a woman? Wouldn’t that be sexist or something?
— Jean (@JeanD312) June 7, 2017
But others on Twitter thought Harris had it coming.
CNN goes full bore on Comey narrative too soon, look like fools when forced to reverse course

It wasn’t asking to pipe down. She *literally* was not allowing witness to answer the question she asked.
“Can I respond?”
“No sir, no.” https://t.co/mV90UI0gDG— Andrew Clark (@AndrewHClark) June 7, 2017
she literally wouldn’t let Rod Rosenstein answer. She actually said they couldn’t explain themselves. https://t.co/FYv8gCk2PD

OMG she was so disrespectful, I’m so glad she got called on that!

Lying sack of journalistic bullshit. https://t.co/t6I86Bq1wg
— AnneMarie (@bulliegirl2513) June 7, 2017
Rude is rude. She interrupted 5 times and was called out. Should have been told to LEAVE.

Watching Sen. Kamala Harris get spanked for being a harpy, overt partisan hack on TV is priceless. #MadeMyDay

Lol! Typical liberal asks someone a question but you aren’t allowed to answer.
