‘You can’t tell me to stop!’ Like clockwork, CNN panel goes completely off the rails over Paris pullout

A CNN discussion about the Paris Agreement went off the rails Thursday after panelists got into an epic shouting match.

John Avlon, editor-in-chief of the Daily Beast, clashed with Jason Miller, a former Trump rep, over the president’s decision to pull out of the Paris Climate Accord.

Avlon trashed Trump, saying the move was fueled more by pressure from the “nationalist wing of the White House” than a desire to save U.S. jobs.

CNN host Erin Burnett told Jason Miller there are many “green jobs” in the emerging eco-industry. Miller countered that “green jobs” are not sustainable or cost-effective and ultimately drain the economy:

The reason they call them ‘green jobs’ is because they’re so expensive to create. Many of these green jobs aren’t self-sustainable. They have to continue putting money into them.

If we went into this accord, we’d lose millions of jobs over the next couple decades, and average household earnings would drop by $20,000.

That’s when Avlon interjected: “Stop! Just stop throwing out fake statistics.”

Miller shouted back: “You can’t tell me to stop!”

While liberal media, European leaders and leftist celebrities have slammed President Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris agreement, most critics are probably not aware of the details of the climate accord, which was voluntarily agreed to in 2015 by nearly 200 countries.

The Paris agreement is non-binding and calls on participating countries — except for China and India (two of the world’s biggest polluters) — to combat climate change by reducing fossil fuel emissions. It also calls for the following:

  • Richer countries like the United States will give $100 billion a year in aid to poor countries. That’s on top of the billions of dollars in annual foreign aid the U.S. gives to poorer nations like India.
  • China and India won’t reduce fossil fuel emissions until 2030.
  • Even if the Paris agreement were implemented in full, it would only temporarily reduce the global temperature by less than 1 degree Celsius, or 1.8 degree Fahrenheit.

Climate change IS real, as indicated by the history of the Earth, where global temperatures have fluctuated over the past 4.5 billion years — long before man made a single carbon footprint.

Climate alarmists bloviating about “global warming” narrowly focus on the recent past while disregarding the wild temperature fluctuations that occurred before the advent of the modern age.

Most conservatives do not deny that climate change is real. Many merely question how much is man-made, and more importantly, whether proactive measures can stop what has occurred naturally over eons and will inevitably occur again no matter what we do.

In the 1970s, climate alarmists stirred widespread panic by predicting a “global ice age” would happen in the 1990s. That turned out to be (in the words of Hillary Clinton) “the biggest nothing burger ever.” But we’re supposed to blindly trust their projections now?

Meanwhile, Twitter reacted comically to the left’s collective freakout over “GLOBAL WARMING!!!”

Many pointed out the hypocrisy of leftist celebrities, who bleat about climate change but continue to pollute the planet with their private jets and massive yachts.
