House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was hammered Thursday over the Pakistani IT specialist for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz who is under a criminal investigation.

Although U.S. Capitol Police are investigating Imran Awan for alleged massive cybersecurity breaches and moving sensitive congressional data offsite, he still has a job. Why, a reporter wanted yo know.
“Well, the people who are under investigation are the Attorney General of the United States,” Pelosi said. “I mean what are we talking about here?”

The reporter yanked the California Democrat back on topic.
“Should Imran Awan still be here?” she persisted.
“I’m not familiar — you have a very specific charge there,” Pelosi said. “I haven’t followed that so closely. We’ve been busy with a lot of other things.”
The Awan case has been a sensitive subject for some time. Earlier this week, Wasserman Schultz, the Florida Democrat who employed the staffer, threatened the Capitol Hill Police chief over his continued investigation.
Nonetheless, Pelosi attempted to pivot to investigations she was more comfortable discussing.
“But there are plenty of people who are under investigation who still have their jobs,” she insisted.
Right.
