MSM ignores REAL bombshell report on Obama admin privacy abuses; should ‘dwarf all other stories’

Mainstream media still believes its primary job is to protect the former president.

What should have been the blockbuster report highly damaging to former President Obama and his administration, got pushed to the back page in most major media outlets.

Why? Because it was highly damaging to the former president and his administration.

“The National Security Agency under former President Barack Obama routinely violated American privacy protections while scouring through overseas intercepts and failed to disclose the extent of the problems until the final days before Donald Trump was elected president last fall,” Circa News, which broke the story, reported.

Although the story described major and repeated Fourth Amendment violations committed throughout most of Obama’s two terms in office, it never made the ABC, CBS or NBC evening news programs.

It was, however, a lead item in Fox News Channel’s “Special Report” with Bret Baier.

“More than one in 20 internet searches conducted by the National Security Agency, involving Americans during the Obama administration, violated constitutional privacy protections. And that practice went on for years. Not only that. But the Obama administration was harshly rebuked by the FISA court for doing it,” Baier reported before turning it over to Fox News Chief Washington correspondent James Rosen.

Earlier Wednesday, Mollie Hemingway, senior editor for “The Federalist,” picked up the story and was herself surprised that so few others did.

And this from a president who claimed his administration was the most transparent in American history? Maybe it’s all in how you define the word transparency.

Earlier Wednesday, Sen. Rand Paul predicted that the Obama privacy violation report would “dwarf all other stories” that day.

“This is an amazing abuse of power,” the Kentucky Republican said on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends.”

It just wasn’t amazing enough for ABC, CBS or NBC. The Big Three thought an outright news blackout was preferable.
