History was made on Monday as President Donald Trump became the first sitting American president to visit Israel’s Western Wall.
President Trump wore a yarmulke as he put his right hand on the holy site and said a prayer.
The president also took a prayer note from his pocket and placed it inside a crevice in the wall, a traditional practice of visitors, the Washington Times reported.

The Western Wall forms the foundation of the Second Jewish Temple, built by King Herod in the first century B.C., and is a pilgrimage site for Jews all over the world.
The president was accompanied on the trip by his daughter Ivanka Trump, son-in-law Jared Kushner and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
President Trump prayed alone as his daughter and Kushner prayed at another section of the wall.
The president and first lady Melania Trump also made a pilgrimage to the Church of The Holy Sepulchre, the site where it is believe that Jesus was crucified and buried.
The president’s visit to the Wall came hours after the Israeli president praised the new administration, while taking some shots at former President Obama.
