Nation’s loudest anti-gun activist ripped apart by fed-up former staff: She’s a self-promoting tyrant!

She’s enough to turn an ultra-liberal true-blue gun-grabber into the most ardent right-wing supporter of Second Amendment rights.

Former staffers of the anti-firearm groups Everytown for Gun Safety and its spinoff group, Moms Demand Action, say both groups’ most recognizable face — Shannon Watts — is driving supporters away.

Watts is the founder of Moms and an advisory board member of Everytown, and critics say that although she’s not a staffer in either organization — only a volunteer — she remains at the core of top-level decision-making, according to The Daily Caller, which reported:

Moms Demand Action, according to its website, “has established a chapter in every state of the country and is part of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country, with more than three million supporters.”

Gun control activists who previously worked for Watts in various state organizations are said to be frustrated and feeling burned by her, according to one source.

“Staff who worked for Shannon quit or are fired faster than the organization can replace them. She’s a nightmare,” the source told The Caller.

Another DC source was a bit more blunt.

“Two beliefs unite nearly all gun control supporters: background checks save lives, and Shannon Watts is a self-promoting tyrant.”

And early this week Everytown announced the departures of two senior staffers — its managing director Debra Rose and deputy organizing director Isaac Bloom.

Everytown used a favored phrase of President Trump to dismiss the claims against Watts.

“This fake news is the result of how we are effectively providing a counter to the extremist leadership of the NRA,” Everytown spokeswoman Kate Folmar told The Daily Caller. “Our movement is strong and growing with more than three million volunteers beating back the gun lobby’s agenda in all 50 states.”

The NRA wasn’t about to let that one pass. It countered Everytown’s personal strikes with its own recent successes.

The National Rifle Association responded to Folmar’s jab by pointing to recent statistics for state legislatures this session that showed 28 pro-gun state bills signed into law, seven pro-gun bills awaiting a governor’s signature, seven state pro-gun bills vetoed and 111 pro-gun pieces of legislation that are pending in state legislatures.

In comparison, Everytown could only point to a single state gun control bill signed into law during the same period.

And on that note there’s but one thing left to say: Pass the popcorn.
