Former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz defended former President Obama and slammed critics like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren for not minding their own business.
During an appearance on CNN Tuesday, the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee reacted to clips of Warren and Sanders criticizing Obama’s decision to accept $400,000 for a speech he plans to give to a Wall Street firm in September.

Schultz on Obama’s $400K Wall Street speech: Compensation of a private citizen is “NOYB, it’s none of your business” https://t.co/Jq9GaQWYOX

“Of all people to question … their commitment to getting money out of politics, to really making sure we restored integrity to the political finance process, President Obama could not have done more,” Wasserman Schultz told host Erin Burnett on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront.”
Liberals were surprised and disappointed that Obama, who had denounced “fat-cat bankers on Wall Street,” accepted the speaking fee. Warren was “troubled” by the former president’s plan and Sanders told CNN it was “distasteful.”
“Look, it is none of anyone’s business what someone who is a member of the private sector decides to accept in terms of compensation,” Wasserman Schultz said. “With all due respect to anyone who chooses to comment publicly on what Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, or anyone earns as a member of the private sector, it’s just, like, MYOB – it’s none of your business.”
Wasserman Schultz also defended Hillary Clinton, who faced backlash for paid speeches she made to Wall Street and argued that both Obama and Clinton have “pristine” public records.
“They both fought back against the big banks, and their practices, and I have every confidence in the service they both provided,” the Florida congresswoman said.
But many found it hard to accept the advice from Wasserman Schultz, who was ousted as DNC chairwoman last summer and is blamed by many for the divisiveness in the Democratic Party.
Social media users called her out on Twitter.
