So far, President Trump is sticking by his press secretary.
The left-wing media has never liked Sean Spicer, but after his “Hitler didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons” gaffe two weeks ago, calls for the White House press secretary’s dismissal have been relentless.
Op-Ed: Let's face it. Trump needs to fire Sean Spicer now https://t.co/9FRV9vSvkA

In the CNBC hit-piece, Jake Novak opines: “And as bad as this Hitler mistake was, it was just the latest problem after so many missteps since he took the job.”
With just one photo op, Sarah Palin ruined one of this year’s most popular fashion trends for libs
Of course, one person’s “misstep” could very well be another person’s “spicy” retort, depending on one’s political perspective. Conservatives love the way Spicer “spices up” rude reporters (like here and here), but liberals are aghast at the idea of a conservative actually fighting back.
According to a Sunday Washington Post write-up about President Trump’s “obsession” with cable TV, Trump was asked whether or not his press secretary was on the chopping block at a White House working lunch last month.
“I’m not firing Sean Spicer,” Trump told attendees.
And the reason speaks a lot to Trump’s television background as well as his penchant for letting the headlines, bad or good, work for him.
“That guy gets great ratings. Everyone tunes in,” said Trump.
That’s no joke. In fact, the Washington Examiner reported that February Nielsen data showed Spicer’s press briefings on cable news beating network soap operas running at the same time, delivering an average of 4.3 million viewers and a 10 percent audience growth from what would otherwise have been running on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News.
In other words, love him or hate him, the guy draws viewers.
Of course, someone else who got great ratings just got canned from Fox News for an entirely different reason. Which led many on Twitter to wonder whether a ready replacement might be in the works should President Trump tire of his press secretary.
Bill O'Reilly out at Fox. Rumors are Trump Organization may hire him to replace Sean Spicer.

Don't feel too bad for O'Reilly. Trump will appoint him press secrtary after he fires Spicer.

And yes, even liberals are afraid…
Good lord…appears the Drumpf staff is expanding. Only a matter of days until O'Reilly replaces Spicer. #WeAreAfraidVeryAfraid

If @realDonaldTrump doesn't understand the hate now, he'd better prepare for more if he tries to replace Spicer with O'Reilly. #KeepBillOOut
