**Warning: Foul language ahead.
Things did not go so well for a British writer who decided to have a fit about free speech on Twitter.
In a tweet featuring an over-abundance of clapping hands, Mike Williams issued an all-caps reminder that “hate speech” does not enjoy First Amendment protection.

He even threw in something about “Nazi opinions” for good measure.
@Mike_P_Williams You know who believed in controlling speech? The?Nazis?
— Jake R. (@jaker1419) April 21, 2017
@Mike_P_Williams “Nazi” is just a lazy way of saying “I don’t value an opposing POV.” Well done.

Besides inspiring clapping responses, Williams set himself up to be schooled on what constitutes free speech in America.

@Mike_P_Williams A shot from your Dr will clear that clap right up.

He dismissed many tweets with snide comments but ultimately, Twitter users seemed to take over the discussion.
@philthatremains Thanks for the concise feedback, friend.

@Xiaxue Is that really the best you can come up with? Oh well.
— Mike P Williams (@Mike_P_Williams) April 21, 2017
@bob_owens I appreciate your unsolicited comment and but don’t agree with your dumbass logic.
— Mike P Williams (@Mike_P_Williams) April 21, 2017
@Mike_P_Williams @bob_owens The funny thing about that unsolicited comment is you are trying to further deny free speech. #stupidlogic

@Jentopiahh Take your nonsense elsewhere, troll. You sound foolish.
— Mike P Williams (@Mike_P_Williams) April 21, 2017
Hopefully Williams took notes and learned a thing a two from Americans who know a thing or two about the First Amendment.

@Mike_P_Williams Hate speech is speech Mike doesn’t approve of. He’s an authoritarian. Don’t be like Mike.
— Lady Hecate (@Hecate40) April 21, 2017
@Mike_P_Williams So as long as you have clapping hand emojis in between your words of hate, that’s not hate speech? Hypocrite.
— Velvet Sugar (@TMIWITW) April 21, 2017
@Mike_P_Williams Tell you what – if you let me define what “hate speech” is, I’ll go along with your idea. Deal?

@punishedhonk @Mike_P_Williams Based in London and trying to school Americans on free speech, I’m you think 1776 is hate speech. You don’t get to decide!!!
— FreeMan (@TruthNFr33dom) April 21, 2017
@Mike_P_Williams @Jentopiahh The problem with you blue-tick beardy weirdies is that you’ve become what you despise the most. Authoritarian book burning fascists.
— TooManyCucks (@OHStillAintGone) April 21, 2017
@Mike_P_Williams “Hate Speech” is a made up term that doesn’t mean anything. pic.twitter.com/bse72zsMH5
— Lothrop Stoddard (@StoddardLothrop) April 21, 2017
@Mike_P_Williams Actually, legally and constitutionally speaking yes, hate speech IS free speech.

@manumiss1on @truthswarm @Mike_P_Williams Professional Journalists who write tweets like this should have their credentials stripped immediately.

@Mike_P_Williams Just because their message sucks (or you just don’t agree) doesn’t mean it’s not protected. pic.twitter.com/DSpqeI0er4

@Mike_P_Williams Ah… you must be British or Australian or Kiwi, Mike? Hate speech very much considered “free speech” here in the USA. #FirstAmendment

@Mike_P_Williams TFW a failed writer from another country doesn’t understand the constitution
