Eric Trump says his dad will not be pushed around by Vladimir Putin, and said President Trump‘s bombing of Russian ally Syria should shut down Democratic bleats about a Trump-Russia collusion.
Eric is “proud” of his dad for taking decisive action after Syrian president Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons against civilians, saying President Trump will not be intimidated by Putin or any other world leader.
“I’m proud he took that action and believe me, he thinks things through,” Eric told the Telegraph. “[My dad is] a great thinker, practical not impulsive. He is not a guy who gets intimidated. He is tough and won’t be pushed around. If there was anything that Syria did, it was to validate the fact that there is no Russia tie.”
Many on Twitter agreed, noting that Democrats had abruptly stopped pushing their narrative about a Russia-Trump collusion after the Syrian air strikes.

While former president Obama refused to take action against Assad when he used chemical weapons against his own citizens in 2013, Eric said his dad has the guts to take on any and all enemies of the United States.

“If they disrespect us and if they cross us, there will be no one harder,” Eric said. “He has got more backbone than anybody.”
President Trump’s decision to bomb a Syrian airfield last week has caused a rift among his supporters. Critics say they voted for Trump because he promised to put America first and not intervene in murky Middle Eastern politics when there’s no upside to the United States.
However, others supported the Syrian air strikes, saying someone had to take a stand against Bashar al-Assad and his puppet-master, Vladimir Putin.

Eric Trump also confirmed that his sister, Ivanka Trump, had influenced President Trump’s decision to punish Assad for using sarin nerve gas against children. Ivanka was recently named an assistant to the president.
“Ivanka is a mother of three kids and she has influence,” Eric said. “I’m sure she said, ‘Listen, this is horrible stuff.’ My father will act in times like that.”
Eric, whose wife is pregnant with their first child, agreed Assad needed to be punished. “These guys are savages and I’m glad he responded the way he responded,” Eric said.
