CNN has no sense of humor.
When White House press secretary Sean Spicer cracked a joke about Russian salad dressing, the folks at CNN must have taken it personally and felt duty-bound to fact-check it.

“If the president puts Russian dressing on his salad tonight, somehow that’s a Russian connection,” he said, making a point that news media have lately become obsessed with a Trump-Russian connection.

Humor is a valuable tool when illustrating a point — unless your name is CNN. In that event you fact-check it. In this case, CNN smugly reported that Russian dressing isn’t actually Russian at all. Scott Whitlock, associate editor for The Media Research Center reported:
