Singer Alicia Keys celebrated the “power” and “strength” of “beautiful” women in a tweet featuring a ballerina – in a hijab.
Of course, the contradiction of a hijab-wearing ballerina aside, Keys apparently has joined the new movement trying to make the headcovering worn by many Muslim women appear cool, and even be seen as a new symbol of feminism.
Our strength is in our differences
Our power is in our diversity
We are so beautiful
All of us
When we see each other
We see ourselves… pic.twitter.com/1h8ZdOutEG— Alicia Keys (@aliciakeys) March 28, 2017
Is she for real?

But the liberal mindset doesn’t seem to want to grasp the idea that the dress code for Muslim women could be seen as oppressive and anything but empowering.
@CounterMoonbat How is this empowering? How is this diverse? If everyone wore that there would be no individual diversity of self.

Wtf. Stop trying to make the hijab cool. https://t.co/fsyRhuxD2q

Not too many liberals championing the “stregth” of hijab wearers are lining up to visit or live in the countries that require the headdress.
Hey @aliciakeys, I grew up in Middle East. Could I send you a free ticket to visit some beautiful places of cultural enrichment? Email me. https://t.co/9mtPvII93B
— Gad Saad (@GadSaad) March 28, 2017
@GadSaad I think a trip to Mecca or Raqqa would sure be ’empowering’ for @aliciakeys, especially in this garb.
— mousseman (@mousseman) March 28, 2017
@abitofbrittUS showing leg and breasts like that in a hijab required country would not be okay…
— Hexokinase (@PFK_FF) March 28, 2017
@GadSaad @aliciakeys This is basically a betrayal to women living under the islamic oppression. But hey, it makes you look Progressive.

Hi @aliciakeys. Showing leg like that under sharia… how many lashes is that? @DiaryOf_Thought

@abitofbrittUS It is the new way of being “edgy or relevant”. Celebrities are really stupid sometimes.

@CounterMoonbat @aliciakeys Apparently, to Ms. Keys, all women are created equal, but some are more equal than others. Apologies to Orwell.
— MJ Belko (@BelkoMj) March 28, 2017
This is what happens when a singer with the knowledge of a lamp (on the issues in question) & a parasitized mind spews offensive garbage. https://t.co/9mtPvII93B
