A burglar rolled the dice and they came up snake eyes.
It took police nearly 17 hours to clear the scene after a home invader was shot and killed by a Las Vegas homeowner last week.
Two intruders broke into the home of a man and his girlfriend Tuesday, bound them with duct tape and demanded money according to local news reports.

The man, who remains unidentified, was able to work himself free from his restraints and retrieve his own firearm. That’s when the fireworks and the screams started, which alerted neighbors.
“I heard a lot of bangs,” Matt Ciaglia, one neighbor said, according to CBS local affiliate 8 Las Vegas Now.
Another described it as “Like a horror movie type of screaming.”
After the smoke cleared, one man was dead and two others were injured.
The second intruder was able to make his escape, but was picked up afterward when he went to a local hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.
The girlfriend was the second person suffering an injury — a non-life threatening gunshot to the arm — and she is expected to fully recover.
“Thank goodness whoever lives there had a gun because if they didn’t, who knows what could have happened,” neighbor Lisa Warren told Las Vegas Now.
“He broke the law and tried to do something wrong, and he got what he deserve,” neighbor John Renn agreed. “You shouldn’t be stealing or trespassing or robbing someone’s house and taking what they have.”

Neighbors said that there’s been an increase in home and auto break-ins recently.
“Every time you turn around, someone’s house is getting broken into, or someone’s car is,” said Renn.
No word if any of the crimes are connected to each other, but they have caused a great deal of concern for residents in the area.
“We’ve certainly been talking a lot about alarm systems and a dog,” another neighbor told the station. “I know a lot of people say a dog is a deterrent. So, yeah, we’re not feeling very safe right now.”
