This is not fake news.
The 2017 Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism has been awarded to some well-known names at CNN, MSNBC and Univision.
Jake Tapper, Katy Tur and Jorge Ramos will be the recipients of an Individual Achievement by a National Journalist honor, according to The Hill.
But, at least the media isn’t biased.

“Today, at this seriously dangerous moment for our democracy, these Cronkite Awards honor journalists, stations and networks stepping up to their civic responsibility to tell Americans the truth,” Marty Kaplan, director of the Norman Lear Center at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, said in an announcement Monday.
Ramos won “for advancing the conversation about what divides us as a country,” according to jurors. The activist journalist has repeatedly attacked President Trump over his immigration claims and policies. Ramos was thrown out of a Trump press conference during the presidential campaign when he became unruly and spoke out of turn.
The Univision news anchor, whose daughter worked on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, recently claimed that illegal immigrants coming to the U.S. were a “benefit” to the country and that America’s future would be “composed solely by minorities.”
MSNBC’s Tur is receiving her Cronkite Award for “providing unique insight into Trump voters” and displaying “grit and perseverance demonstrating the honor of her profession.”
And jurors actually touted Tapper’s “tenacious commitment to sorting fact from fiction, a quality essential to journalism,” for his win.
Tapper has been at the receiving end of many of Trump’s attacks on CNN for reporting unsubstantiated and biased news reports during the campaign and in the first weeks of the new administration. Tapper defended his network saying Trump was trying to “discredit” CNN by calling them “fake news” at a press conference.
The anchor even admitted his seven year-old son mocks him with a “fake news” taunt whenever he bothers him.
Another award handed out to CNN was for its “Reliable Sources” which won top National Network News Program. Brian Stelter’s ability to offer “positive solutions to the question of what the media needs to do to gain, and regain, the public’s trust,” was noted by the jurors voting on the trophy.
Awards will be handed out at a ceremony the National Press Club in Washington on April 28, according to the Hill.
While many congratulatory notes were tweeted, countless Twitter users thought Cronkite himself would be insulted.

@thehill The 2016 election has opened my eyes to crookedness of awards. Awards are used to push leftists globalist agenda. Don’t trust them.

A Daily Mail political editor recently outed the biased media, noting there’s “a lack of intellectual and ideological diversity in the media.”
These “Cronkite Awards” certainly solidify that statement.
