Fired U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara has a flair for the dramatic, and insists on elevating himself as a martyr.
Bharara was one of 46 Obama-appointed U.S. Attorneys who were asked to resign in a mass purge of the Department of the Justice on Friday.
It is normal for a new president to clean house like this so he can hire his own people. Bill Clinton fired all 93 U.S. attorneys when he took office in 1993, and the press didn’t blink an eye.
After making a spectacle of himself by refusing to turn in his resignation like the 45 other U.S. Attorneys, Bharara was fired on Saturday morning.
On Sunday, he fueled moonbat conspiracy theories by cryptically tweeting: “By the way, now I know what Moreland Commission must have felt like.”
By the way, now I know what the Moreland Commission must have felt like.

The Moreland Commission was launched by Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2013 to investigate public corruption. In 2014, Cuomo abruptly shut down the commission amid rumors that the group had started investigating his office.

Shortly afterward, Bharara led an investigation into whether Gov. Cuomo prematurely shut down the Moreland Commission in order to shutter investigations of wrongdoing by his office. In 2016, Bharara ended his investigation, saying there was “insufficient evidence” that Cuomo had done anything wrong.
Leftists immediately interpreted Preet Bharara’s tweet as suggesting he was fired because he was investigating the Trump administration, and President Trump wanted to close the matter by firing him.
The insinuation is ridiculous because Bharara does not personally lead every single investigation done by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, which employs 220 Assistant U.S. Attorneys. Any investigation Bharara oversaw before his firing will continue.
So is @PreetBharara saying he was fired because he was looking into @realDonaldTrump ? https://t.co/tKRq3pagGC

Twitter reacted by telling Bharara to get over his crucifixion complex and move on with some dignity, just like Attorney General Jeff Sessions did when former President Clinton fired him back in 1993.

Why are we pretending that Trump replacing US attorneys is something new? Jeff Sessions was canned by Bill Clinton in the same process. pic.twitter.com/hfDlfYfEfY

Meanwhile, this is how most New Yorkers felt the day after Preet’s firing:
Day one of New York City without Preet & the joy among the citizens is palpable. Children are laughing, everyone has a bounce in their step.
