Dad of teen killed by illegal alien explains how he handles disapproving Dems: I ignore them, like they do me

President Donald Trump’s guest at his address to Congress, the father of a teen killed by an illegal immigrant, said he feels vindicated by the speech.

“It’s a feeling I never had in the last nine years,”  Jamiel Shaw, Sr. said on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends First” Wednesday. “It just felt so good to hear that the President of the United States cares about my son.”

Trump honored Shaw in a portion of his address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, explaining how Shaw’s 17 year-old son, Jamiel Shaw, Jr., was murdered by an illegal immigrant gang member, who had just been released from prison in 2008. Shaw shared that he feels he let his son down by not being able to protect him, especially since his wife was serving overseas in Iraq at that time.

“It just messes your life up,” Shaw said, criticizing those who oppose the president’s proposed crackdown on illegal immigrants.

“We’re trying to get the gang members, the rapists, the robbers: the people who don’t want to be Americans. They want to victimize Americans,” Shaw said, praising plans to deport criminals who are illegal immigrants, especially in his home town of Los Angeles. “Who could be against that?”

As for critics of the deportation plans who say rounding up the undocumented immigrants will lead to separation of family members, Shaw offered a raw dose of reality.

“You can go visit them,” he said. “If you want to know true separation, go to the cemetery, go to the mausoleum. See what it feels like to just stand there.”

In a separate interview with “Fox & Friends,” Shaw blasted Democrats who booed the president as he unveiled his plan to create an office called VOICE – Victims Of Immigration Crime Engagement – to publish a regular list of all crimes committed by immigrants.

“They don’t want nothing but division, bickering,” Shaw said of the critical Democrats. “They don’t want to solve no problems.”

“I just ignore them, like they do me,” he said, calling their behavior “disrespectful.”
