The Oscars weren’t the only glamorous black-tie event taking place Sunday evening. President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump hosted governors from across the country at the White House for the annual Governors Ball.

The state leaders were in town for the National Governors Association spring meeting, where they were set to discuss issues pressing the country. Trump announced on Twitter earlier in the day health-care reform would be one of the topics on the docket, doubling down he plans to repeal and replace the law in his speech at the event.

The president noted attendance was strong for the black-tie dinner, which the first family chose to theme “Spring’s Renewal.”

“I hear this is a record number of governors, 46 and that’s the highest that have ever showed up for this evening,” Trump said, according to ABC News. National Governors Association Chairman Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe jokingly took some credit for the high turnout.

“In the spirit of bipartisanship, sir, we will both take credit … ” McAuliffee said, according to The Hill. “We have a common goal: We are the greatest nation in the globe, and I want to toast you, Mr. President, and to say we want to work with you to build on those ideals.”

Trump went on to praise the work he has accomplished so far, adding they still have a long way to go.

“I can say that after four weeks — it’s been a lot of fun — but we’ve accomplished almost everything we’ve started out to accomplish. The borders are stricter, tighter,” he said, The Associated Press reports, adding. “We’re very happy with the way things are working but, again, we’ve made a lot of promises over the last two years and many of those promises already are kept so we’re very honored by that.”

Trump is slated to meet with the governors again Monday morning.
