Report: Illegal fundraiser for Clintons made a secret detailed video for fear he might be killed

It never pays to be on the Clinton’s enemies list.

That was apparently the belief of a Chinese-American businessman who was up to his neck in a Clinton illegal campaign financing scheme, and felt that he had to secretly record a tell-all confession as an insurance policy out of fear for his life.

Johnny Chung was a fundraiser for then-President Bill Clinton’s re-election bid, and he was instrumental in illegally funneling money from Chinese officials to the campaign, according to the Daily Mail, which received exclusive rights to the taped confession.

Chung recorded his testimony in 2000 while in hiding, and gave it to friends family members he trusted with instructions to release it to the media in the event of his death.

The presumption is that Chung is still alive and residing in China. The Mail received excerpts from the raw footage of Chung’s “insurance policy” from author David Weed, which he used as research material for his new book, “Game of Thorns.”

The book is centered on Hillary Clinton’s unsuccessful 2016 presidential bid and traces China’s protracted operation to buy Washington influence from the Clintons.

Weed reportedly obtained the video from Chung friend Bob Abernathy, who said it was good that it be shown.

Relations between Chung and the Clintons were smooth until the fundraiser was caught up in the “ChinaGate” scandal and was accused of funneling more than $300,000 from the Chinese military intelligence chief to the Democratic National Committee through U.S. straw donors.

Chung cooperated with Justice Department officials and was eventually sentenced to five years probation and went into hiding.

The Mail reported:

According to Wead’s book, “Game of Thorns,” Chung was persuaded to film the “insurance” video by a former government official who visited him while he was in hiding and told him that his “odds of survival actually increased by going public.”

Chung “received a friendly visit from a retired government official, friendly with the FBI, who perhaps felt guilty about the treatment Chung had been given after agreeing to come forward and tell the truth,” reported Wead.

During a two-year period in the mid-90s, Chung visited the Clinton White House 57 times — usually meeting with then-first lady Hillary Clinton or MEMBER OF her staff. On one occasion the president persuaded Chung to set up a meeting for him with the top Chinese military official who was the source of the funds.

Before U.S. District Judge Manuel L. Real sentenced Chung, he was urged by Democratic Party officials to give him a stiff sentence, claiming that he’d misled the DNC. But Real declined.

“It’s very strange that the giver pleads guilty and the givee gets off free,” he said at the time.
