Trump’s Hollywood star vandal sentenced after pleading no contest in court

The person who vandalized President Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star in November has been nabbed and was sentenced after pleading nolo contendre.

Los Angeles resident James Lambert Otis, 53, entered his plea Tuesday to the vandalism that occurred weeks before Trump’s election as president, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

By entering his plea, he accepted his punishment for one felony count of vandalism without admitting guilt.

The court ordered Otis to pay $3,700 to the Hollywood Historic Trust and $700 to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. He was then sentenced to 20 days of CalTrans road work and placed on three years of probation.

Otis’s 15 minutes of fame involved him destroying Trump’s Walk of Fame star with a sledge-hammer and a pickaxe while dress as a maintenance worker — an act suggesting Trump’s star needed Secret Service protection as well as the man himself.

Trump haters thought it was all worth it.

Others thought differently.

TMZ reported that following the vandalism, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce protected Trump’s star with barricades and caution tape.
