Tucker’s debate with ‘USA Today’ editor over Bannon slam is everything you’d hope it’d be, and more

Don’t you just love it when conservatives reduce liberals to a stuttering ineffectual heap of humanity during a spirited debate?

Over the weekend the USA Today’s editorial board claimed that senior Trump advisor Stephen Bannon shared worldview with Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

It claimed that Bannon and the terrorist both have an “apocalyptic visions of a clash of civilizations between Islam and the West,”

USA Today’s deputy editorial page editor David Mastio clashed with Fox News host Tucker Carlson Wednesday, who is “the sworn enemy of lying, pomposity, smugness and group-think.” The result wasn’t pretty for Mastio.

“We’re at war with a psychotic death cult, a fringe of the Islamic world,” Mastio argued. “Bannon agrees with Baghdadi that it is a war between Islam and the West. We don’t need to give Baghdadi that propaganda victory.”

Carlson called the comparison between the two “over-the-top” and engaged in a game of “who did it?” with the editor, suggesting there is very little the two have in common.

Carlson added that while comparing Bannon to the Third Reich and terrorism is apparently OK with the media, it’s apparently off-limits to observe the Islamic State is engaged in a religious war with western civilization.

“They see it in religious terms. And why is it wrong to say that out loud? Because, once again, it’s true,” the Fox News host said.

Folks on social media thought this was one of Carlson’s greatest debate victories over the left.

Throughout the debate, Mastio had to admit that there was nothing outrageous about Bannon’s statements concerning Islam — including that the word Islam has at it Arabic roots the word “submission.”
