Can't make this up! Anti-Trump activists try to launch a ‘do nothing’ day of protest

An anti-Trump activist group is scrambling to launch a “Buy Nothing” day to resist President Donald Trump’s agenda.

Strike4Deomcray, an activist group, organized the strike for Feb. 17, 2017. It’s a “grassroots movement,” and the group is calling for members to do absolutely nothing next Friday.

“On the day of the strike, we will not got to work (unless absolutely necessary). We will not go to school (unless necessary). We will not spend any money (unless necessary),” according to the Facebook group.

People from across the U.S. will gather to make various demands known.

Organizers claim that the strike is meant to show support for the Constitution. People will go out into their communities to serve others rather than go to work, the group said.

Demonstrators have promised not to resort to violence. The overall group also has two demands for their senators and representatives:

“Reaffirm your oath of office and unbounded compliance with the Constitution of the United States of America, on or before February 17th – the day of the General National Strike,” the first demand states.

The second calls on congressmen to resist any laws that violate the Constitution.

A strike to be held in Palm Beach County, Fla., is calling on Trump to get rid of the immigration halt and to not repeal the Affordable Care Act.

“No Ban, No Wall. The Muslim ban is immoral, the wall is expensive and ineffectual. We will build bridges, not walls,” the event page reads.
