Listen to audio; arguments get heated as attorneys fight it out for President Trump’s travel ban

Attorneys for the Justice Department defending President Trump’s executive order suspending travel from seven nations didn’t appear to make headway as they argued before a federal appeals court.

The attorneys squared off with legal counsel for the state of Washington who led the case for the other states against the order in a contentious battle before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

The lawyers for the Justice Department argued for the court to overturn the temporary restraining order against the president’s directive that was issued by U.S. District Judge James Robart.

The hearing was live streamed by the court and broadcast on several cable news stations.
