NBC News must have been disappointed when it had to walk back false anti-military headline on Gorsuch

The mainstream media’s fake news brigade strikes again.

NBC News was forced to correct a false report claiming that President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch had opposed military recruiting on campus when he was an undergrad at Columbia University.

NBC jumped to that conclusion after scouring the archives of Gorsuch’s college newspaper from the 1980s (that’s how far back they had to go to dig up dirt on the scandal-free judge).

NBC claimed that Gorsuch had written an article in 1987 declaring that military recruiters should be barred from campus until the military repealed its ban on openly homosexual recruits.

Ironically, the pro-LGBT stance that NBC claimed Gorsuch took was twisted in its headline to suggest that Gorsuch was anti-military — which, as a Republican, is totally ridiculous.

NBC News falsely attributed the college editorial to Neil Gorsuch due to a formatting error, Mediaite reported. It was actually written by another student.

Had NBC been less eager to cast Gorsuch in a bad light, they would’ve caught the mistake before rushing to bleat their fake news.

NBC later corrected the headline to suggest he was opposed to student protests: “As a Student, SCOTUS Nominee Gorsuch Held Dim View Of Campus Protesters.”

While mistakes happen, this is the latest example of leftist mainstream media desperately trying to twist news to push their anti-Trump narrative.

Earlier this week, White House press secretary Sean Spicer denied rumors the White House “iced out” CNN, but said he can’t waste time talking to biased media that have no interest in accurate reporting.

“I’m not going to sit around and engage with people who have no desire to actually get something right,” Spicer said.

Last month, President Trump slammed CNN for pushing a bogus report claiming the Russians had a secret “blackmail dossier” on him. CNN was later forced to walk back those unverified claims.

The situation came to a head in a tense moment at a press conference, when the president refused to call on a rude CNN reporter by saying: “You are fake news!”
