Melania Trump makes her first White House hire, senior adviser to the first lady

First Lady Melania Trump has made her first White House hire.

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former special events planner for Vogue magazine, has been named senior adviser to the first lady.

Wolkoff, who’s famous for staging the glamorous Met Gala, helped plan President Trump’s swanky inaugural balls and dinners.

Wolkoff, 46, is a longtime friend of Melania Trump who will no doubt bring style and elegance to White House state dinners and ceremonies.

Wolkoff lives in Manhattan, is married to real estate developer David Entratter Wolkoff, and has three children. She is expected to commute to Washington from New York, the Daily Mail reported.

Melania Trump has said she plans to promote women’s causes and fight for children’s rights as First Lady.

Her other responsibilities will include being the official hostess for the White House and organizing and attending official ceremonies and state functions.

Melania previously said she wants to be a traditional First Lady. “I would be very traditional, like Betty Ford or Jackie Kennedy,” she said.

That means it’s not likely Melania will use the position to further her own political or financial ambitions the way Hillary Clinton did.
