Liberals can’t seem to move past the election of President Donald Trump, and some have made the discussion a full-time job.
AÂ University of Connecticut professor debated Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tuesday on his theory that white supremacy motivated voters who turned out for Trump.
“[White people] have done very well in this country and have in large part outpaced other racial groups due to a series of … advantages given to them,” UCONN sociology professor Matthew Hughey said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

@TuckerCarlson Matthew Hughey is crazy. How about Trump won because Americans were tired of the direction of the County

Hughey is set to deliver a college lecture series on the “racial reasoning” behind voter support for Trump, entitled “Make America White Again – The Racial Reasoning of American Nationalism.”

Race and “heteronormativity” were additional factors besides white supremacy that led to Trump’s victory, Hughey suggested, explaining that these factors have resulted in all but one American president being white.
@TuckerCarlson #MatthewHughey says #POTUS Trump was elected bcuz of white supremacy. Would he say Obama was elected bcuz of white guilt?

@TuckerCarlson blame it on white people blame it on the Russians but just don’t blame Hillary .

Carlson questioned how Hughey’s theory could make sense given that America has taken in over 60 million legal immigrants in the last 50 years, with only 12 percent of them coming from Europe.
“Your facts are actually wrong,” Carlson countered when the professor claimed immigration has ebbed and flowed.

Hughey argued that white supremacist societies depend on having “a large racial underclass” as a white upper class must “trade on immigrants” to “do the work that they don’t want to do themselves.”
I feel so sorry for any students who have this lefty, bow-tied, double boring professor who is on @TuckerCarlson.

@TuckerCarlson I am now happy that my son decided not to apply to UConn#facepalm

Hughey suggested that the Fox host read his books to understand the “facts” after Carlson repeatedly tried to get the tenured professor to answer the underlying question.
UCONN prof is so full of himself! Tells @TuckerCarlson if he doesn’t believe him he can go read his books? #Tucker

@TuckerCarlson OMG that professor is tenured!!! No wonder our kids heads are full of Poo!!
— Bonnie Shaw (@IshmaShaw) January 25, 2017
“You’re not bringing facts here,” Hughey said. “I understand this is Fox, but you’ve got to bring some truth to the table here.”

“You don’t get challenged much in college,” Carlson concluded. “So nothing you say, no matter how silly, can ever get you fired?”
@carlisledeeann @TuckerCarlson Tucker where do you find these clowns?
