A total of 11.76 million viewers tuned into FNC to watch President Donald Trump’s inaugural address, versus CNN’s 3.375 million and MSNBC’s 1.487 million.
The total viewership across the channels surpassed former President Obama’s 2013 inaugural address, according to TV Newser, which reported:
Almost 11.8 million viewers watched Pres. Trump take the oath and give his inaugural address on Fox News. That’s a +794 percent improvement from the network’s coverage of Barack Obama’s second inaugural address, and a +114 percent improvement from Obama’s first inaugural address in 2009. Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum anchored the coverage for Fox News.
Altogether, 16.63 million viewers watched Pres. Trump take the oath and give his inaugural address across the “big 3” cable news networks from 12 – 12:30 p.m. That’s a +147 percent improvement from 2013 (6.73 million) but a -3 percent fall from 2009 (17.06 million).
Fox News also surpassed CNN’s election night coverage, drawing in an average of 12.19 million viewers to CNN’s 11.17 million.
