In yet another example of how petty and small many liberals are, African-American film director Spike Lee has announced that he won’t use singer Chrisette Michele’s music in any of his films because she dared to sing at one of Donald Trump’s inaugural events.
Michele won a Grammy for her 2009 song “Be OK,” but apparently she isn’t “OK” with the petty Lee who let his bigoted decision be known on his Instagram account, according to The Blaze.
Lee wrote:
I Wuz Sorry To Read That ‘Sistuh Girl’ Is Singin’ At DT’s Inauguration (And To Use His Fav Word-SAD),” Lee wrote. “I Wuz Thinkin’ ’bout Using Chrisette’s Song- BLACK GIRL MAGIC In My Netflix Series SHE’S GOTTA HAVE IT…. NOT ANYMORE. And Dat’s Da Truth, Ruth.
For her part, Michele was unbowed by the pressure from the left. She refused to allow the haters to force her to turn her back on this historic event.
“My heart is broken for our country, for the hopes of our children, for the fights of those who came before us,” she wrote on Twitter. “I cry at the thought that Black History, American History might be in vain.”
Michele is far from the only person or group the left has attacked for daring to appear at a Trump event. Singer Jennifer Holliday pulled out at the last-minute because she was getting so many attacks on social media. Andrea Boceilli also bowed out of singing at a Trump event because, he said, the avalanche of death threats liberals showered upon him frightened him too much. Liberals even launched a concerted effort to destroy the Girl Scouts for daring to appear at a Trump inaugural event.
But several others told the liberals to take a hike. Country star Toby Keith, for one, told the intolerant left that he didn’t care even a little bit about their opinion of him. Rock band 3 Doors Down also thumbed their noses at the left and said they were asked to play and they will play. So did country singer Lee Greenwood and a host of others.
