CNN puts Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in heck of an awkward position with this question

Disgraced former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz had a moment of ironic reflection while discussing election fairness.

CNN’s Erin Burnett asked Wasserman Schultz if she thinks Donald Trump is a “legitimate president” amid unsubstantiated rumors that Russia may have swayed the election in his favor.

The poodle-haired congresswoman refused to overtly call Trump’s presidency illegitimate, but insisted she would never want voters to think any election she was involved in was rigged.

“I’m not going to weigh in on the application of the term ‘legitimate,'” Wasserman Schultz said. “I’ve run for office many times, and I certainly would never want to have the credibility or confidence shaken in the outcome of any of my elections.”

Amazingly, Wasserman Schultz made the comments with a straight face even though she was forced to resign as chair of the Democratic National Committee in July 2016 after Wikileaks emails showed she had conspired with Hillary Clinton‘s team to rig the Democratic primary election in Clinton’s favor.

Clinton later hired Wasserman Schultz to lead her failed campaign.

Wasserman Schultz insisted that Russia had interfered in the presidential election. “There’s no question that the outcome of this election was affected by the Russian interference,” she said, adding that she’ll reach a more definite conclusion after investigations are completed.

To her credit, Wasserman Schultz will attend Trump’s inauguration, but said she understood why over 50 House Democrats don’t want to go.

“I am the representative of the constituents who live in my district … I want to make sure that I am there, sending a very clear and strong message to Donald Trump and his administration that I’m going to be watching every single day,” she said.

Meanwhile, Twitter had a ball taking jabs at the supreme irony of Debbie Wasserman Schultz discussing election fairness.

Some noted how ironic it was for CNN to discuss election rigging, since they tried to influence voters with their biased anti-Trump news coverage.

If Wasserman Schultz doesn’t get re-elected, Twitter reminded her she has a promising fallback career.
