Fox News’ Jesse Watters, filling in for Bill O’Reilly on “The O’Reilly Factor,” pointed to President-elect Donald Trump for being responsible for what he insists is a new trend involving Christmas.
“People are now saying Merry Christmas,” Watters said on Friday’s show. “I believe it has something to do with Donald Trump.”
The O’Reilly protege then made the comparison to President Barack Obama.
“We used to say Happy Holidays a lot under President Obama,” Watters noted. “People are saying Merry Christmas again, you can see it on the streets.”
For the record, Trump did predict that the country will start saying “Merry Christmas” again earlier this month during a “Thank You Tour” stop in Michigan.
“And Merry Christmas everybody! Merry Christmas. Right? Merry Christmas,” Trump said. “They reminded me. We’re going to start saying Merry Christmas again.”
