If you see something, say something — unless they’re shouting and carrying on Arabic.
After two Delta Air Lines passengers — both Muslim Americans — were removed prior to departure on an international flight from London to New York, one of them, YouTube prankster Adam Saleh, created an even bigger ruckus and encouraged a boycott of the air carrier.
After the flight landed in New York and company officials had a chance to interview passengers and crew, the company issued this updated statement:
Delta issued the following statement this evening regarding Flight 1:
Upon landing the crew was debriefed and multiple passenger statements collected. Based on the information collected to date, it appears the customers who were removed sought to disrupt the cabin with provocative behavior, including shouting. This type of conduct is not welcome on any Delta flight. While one, according to media reports, is a known prankster who was video recorded and encouraged by his traveling companion, what is paramount to Delta is the safety and comfort of our passengers and employees. It is clear these individuals sought to violate that priority.

But in this politically-correct world that wasn’t good enough for some people — they thought bowing, scraping and groveling was in order for the airline and took to social media to air their disgust.
@Delta So if someone can’t speak English they aren’t allowed on ur airlines? & what constitutes “uncomfortable” & thus kicking them off?
— Shawn Don (@realshawnisaac) December 21, 2016
Can’t speak English”? How about won’t speak English and was acting obnoxiously regardless? And still the complaints rolled in, accusing Delta of “blatant racism.”
@Delta Not one apology. What your company did was blatant racism. Stop making excuses. I will share this as often and as far as possible.

Earth to Chelsea DC: Muslim isn’t a race. But the charge continued to be lodged nonetheless.
@Delta it is so shocking that you aren’t going to address the serious accusations of racism on your airline. That is the least you could do.

@Delta @coryshunter this is unacceptable statement. Not the first time you allowed racist attracts on flight @CarlsonWagonlit pls remove

@Delta hey i got a question. are you guys gonna do anything about the racism that happens daily at ur airport? or yall just gonna let it go
— mary (@coryshunter) December 21, 2016
Racist statements? You mean from passengers like this one?

And why should Delta apologize? He’s pulled this study in the past on air carriers.
@TheRarestGem615 @Delta I’m glad! While you’re at it, be sure to share the fact that Adam is a known liar. pic.twitter.com/2z26h51Cgp

Delta had it’s supporters also, and thought the air carrier handled everything appropriately.
@Delta @coryshunter Thanks Delta. Good job handling this situation with a known provocateur.

@Delta Good for you, Delta. Don’t get drawn into the scam of a sick, liberal scam artist.

And a few had additional responses for dealing with pranksters.
@Delta @coryshunter id also add him to no fly list or just 86 him from airport.

@Delta @coryshunter dont be afraid to remove trash when its needed…. ERA of PC is dead… just do it and smile..
— l3urton (@sneakysneakers4) December 22, 2016
There’s an old joke that started making the rounds after the era of airline hijacking began. If you bump into an old fried named John on a flight, never, ever, never shout, “Hi Jack!”
That goes double since 9/11.
