A conservative effort to organize a protest against Target’s transgender bathroom policies was shut down by the company hosting its website Thursday, in an effort to oppose “hate” and support “diversity.”

The server company, Leadpages, ordered 2nd Vote to take down the page promoting the Target boycott in an email Wednesday, saying it violated the company’s terms of service.

“You see, at Leadpages, we strive to create an inclusive workplace that upholds the dignity of all people,” the company’s director of operations, Dough Storbeck, wrote in the email. “We value, respect, and celebrate everyone’s individualities and honor their unique strengths from all different walks of life.”

2nd Vote was ordered to shut down the website by no later than 8 a.m. Thanksgiving day.

Storbeck specifically noted the company’s “Acceptable Use and Conduct policy” in the email, saying the website constitutes content which is “hateful” on the basis of sexual orientation. If 2nd Vote refused to take down the page, Storbeck said the company reserved the right to terminate the contract.

The #AnywhereButTARGET boycott was organized by 2nd Vote in response to Target’s policy of allowing people to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with rather than of their biological sex. “This Christmas shopping season we’re asking conservatives to send a clear and direct message to Target, a company that seems to care more about a radical political agenda than common sense and safety of its own customers,” 2nd Vote said in a statement ahead of Thanksgiving.

2nd Vote announced the shut down of the boycott page in an email, saying it had reached three million people with the campaign and suspected it was shut down because of its success. “Liberals who constantly tout tolerance and inclusion go out of their way to shut down ideas they disagree with,” 2nd Vote Executive Director Lance Wray said in a statement.
