UPDATE: Donald Trump took to Twitter late Tuesday morning to note that his meeting with the newspaper is back on . . .
The meeting with the @nytimes is back on at 12:30 today. Look forward to it!

Times senior vice president for communications Eileen Murphy confirmed the meeting in a statement.
“He will meet with our publisher off-the-record and that session will be followed by an on-the-record meeting with our journalists and editorial columnists,” Murphy said, according to Fox News.
Shape up, or ship out.
That was the message Donald Trump gave the New York Times Tuesday morning when he abruptly cancelled a pre-planned meeting with the paper for changing “terms and conditions” at the last minute.
I cancelled today's meeting with the failing @nytimes when the terms and conditions of the meeting were changed at the last moment. Not nice

After months of biased coverage, Trump doesn’t trust The Gray Lady and the paper all but admitted its slanted coverage in a post-election announcement.
The Times made a public statement that said it will rededicate itself to honest reporting. But, judging from recent reports about the media outlet’s waning popularity, the Times’ confession came too late.
And a skeptical Trump isn’t taking any chances.
Perhaps a new meeting will be set up with the @nytimes. In the meantime they continue to cover me inaccurately and with a nasty tone!

Feeling dissed, The Times paper reported on the cancellation, saying that “reporters and editors were set to go,” when they discovered the announcement on Twitter. But, Trump wasn’t done and took a few more shots.
The failing @nytimes just announced that complaints about them are at a 15 year high. I can fully understand that – but why announce?

President-elect Trump said he will be conducting meetings, just not with the Times:
Great meetings will take place today at Trump Tower concerning the formation of the people who will run our government for the next 8 years.

Ouch.
The cancellation comes one day after conflicting reports about an off-the-record meeting with Trump and mainstream media elites.
The New York Post quoted two sources who said the meeting was like a “f-ing firing squad” as Trump railed against top execs and reporters for biased treatment.
Sean Hannity praised the reports and celebrated a media “a** kicking,” while Kellyanne Conway claimed the report to be inaccurate.
“[Trump] did not explode in anger,” Conway later said on Bloomberg Politics.
