Backed into a corner, Starbucks issues a statement about operation #TrumpCup

Starbucks has lashed out at Donald Trump-supporting customers who are asking baristas to write the president-elect’s name on their cups and call it out.

The Seattle-based coffee giant and longtime supporter of far-left causes issued a statement on the movement, named Operation #TrumpCup, in which it said writing customer’s names on cups is a “fun ritual” but not required.

“Rarely has it been abused or taken advantage of. We hope and trust that our customers will continue to honor that tradition,” it said. “We don’t require our partners to write or call out names.”

The movement took off after some baristas not only refused to write Trump’s name but called the police on a customer who asked.

Harry Reid’s rule change comes back to bite Dems; another bitter pill

Fox Business host Lisa Kennedy made fun of the company’s stance on “Outnumbered” Monday.

“Their response basically (is) ‘This is why we can’t have nice things. You guys are gonna wreck it for everyone,’ she joked.

This isn’t the first time Trump and his supporters have had issues with Starbucks either.

During the Republican primary, Trump floated the idea of boycotting the company when it released its holiday red cups with no Christmas symbolism.
