Starbucks has lashed out at Donald Trump-supporting customers who are asking baristas to write the president-elect’s name on their cups and call it out.
The Seattle-based coffee giant and longtime supporter of far-left causes issued a statement on the movement, named Operation #TrumpCup, in which it said writing customer’s names on cups is a “fun ritual” but not required.
“Rarely has it been abused or taken advantage of. We hope and trust that our customers will continue to honor that tradition,” it said. “We don’t require our partners to write or call out names.”
The movement took off after some baristas not only refused to write Trump’s name but called the police on a customer who asked.
