Video: Here’s Ben Shapiro’s epic response to cops when they keep him off Chicago’s DePaul U campus

Conservative writer, editor and commentator Ben Shapiro defied a ban from speaking at Chicago’s DePaul University over alleged “security concerns.”

Shapiro was stopped by security personnel at the campus entrance and told that if he steps foot on university property, he would be arrested.

“I’m glad that in a city that has some 4,000 shootings too this date, you have 30 members of security just for a 5’9″ 165 [pound] Jewish guy,” the editor-in-chief of “The Daily Wire” said when he was turned back.

Shapiro told Fox News host Megyn Kelly that this instance of being turned away from speaking “was particularly amazing because there wasn’t a protester anywhere in sight.”

He summed up the experience brilliantly.

“They’re tolerant of anything except someone actually giving a speech on the topic of free speech.”

A fellow speaker eventually used Skype to get the message to those gathered at the lecture to instruct the students to meet at an alternate venue a few blocks away.

DePaul isn’t the only university creating problems. Shapiro said that he’s scheduled to speak Wednesday at the Madison campus of University of Wisconsin where a large protest is planned.

“One of the key reasons that they’re protesting it … is that I’m pro-Trump, which is weird because I wasn’t.”

No one said progressives had to make sense.

Kelly observed that while “controversial figures from the left” are given carte blanche to speak at college campuses, they tend to draw the line at controversial conservatives.
