Democrats reeling from Donald Trump’s election victory were encouraged by one congressman to stand up against anything unconstitutional that may come from the president-elect.

California Rep. Ted Lieu announced that he became a monthly donor to the American Civil Liberties Union in an effort to fight back “any unconstitutional crazy s**t” from Trump.

Lieu has not held back criticism for his own party, recently tweeting that Democrats were wrong to blame racism for Trump’s victory.

He also took both political parties to task for enabling a “surveillance state” that paved the way for an “authoritarian” like Trump to move into the White House.

Lieu defended his comments as “free speech” when one Twitter user criticized his tweets.
