‘Tears of joy’: Bill Clinton’s alleged victims respond to Donald Trump’s ‘magnificent victory’

Few Americans were more excited about Donald Trump’s victory than Bill and Hillary Clinton’s sexual assault victims.

The women whose lives were forever changed by the Clintons met the news of the election results with relief,  joy and a sense of vindication.

Juanita Broaddrick, who alleged in 1999 that former President Bill Clinton raped her in 1978 when he was Arkansas Attorney General, lost no time sharing her feelings on Twitter as the election results became known.

Former White House aide during the Clinton administration, Kathleen Willey, who had accused Bill Clinton of sexually assaulting her in 1993, thanked Trump and said she “cried herself to sleep.”

Hillary Clinton successfully defended the man accused of raping 12 year-old Kathy Shelton in 1975. More than 40 years later, Clinton’s defeat on Tuesday left Shelton at a loss for words.

Paula Jones, a former Arkansas state employee who famously sued former president Clinton for sexual harassment in 1994, was also relieved by Trump’s victory.

The women, who  were pulled back into the spotlight during the 2016 election race as they supported Trump and condemned the Clintons, can probably rest easier now as they celebrate with the new president-elect.
