ESPN’s Stephen Smith excoriates ‘flaming hypocrite’ Kaepernick for what he DIDN’T do on Election Day

Is it really political change that drives NFL lightweight Colin Kaepernick, or is it merely attention he craves?

If the San Francisco 49ers quarterback’s actions — or rather inactions — on November 8 are any indication, it’s the latter, and it was enough for ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith to give him the dressing down of his life.

Although Kaepernick claims to speak for oppressed minorities by taking a knee or sitting on his hindquarters while the national anthem plays, he neglected to take an hour out of his pampered life to actually vote his principles on Tuesday — and it didn’t escape Smith’s attention.

“As far as I am concerned, Colin Kaepernick is absolutely irrelevant,” Smith said in an epic rant that was posted to ESPN “First Take’s” Facebook page. “I don’t want to see him again; I don’t want to hear from him again; I don’t wanna hear a damn word about anything he say to say about our nation — the issues that we have, racial injustices, needing change, etcetera, etcetera. He comes across as a flaming hypocrite.”

And that was just the warmup for Smith.

“After all this noise that you made, even though you didn’t intend to do so by offending our military servicemen and women…to turn around and not to even take your behind to the polls to vote for a particular candidate — it is shameful! Absolutely shameful!” he said.

“Him of all people, because of the position he took, because of the attention he brought to the issues, the fact that you don’t even have the decency to go to the polls and activate yourself in this election, as our president said, is a damn same. I don’t want to hear another word from Colin Kaepernick! It’s a waste of time.”

Then Smith hit Kaepernick where it really hurt — the NFLer’s mediocre performance on the gridiron and called for a media blackout of the coddled quarterback.

“I would personally make a request to the media in this nation,” he said. “Wherever he is, if he ain’t on that football field trying to throw another damn incomplete pass, do me a favor and make sure of one thing: Take the camera away from him. It means nothing!”

But wait! Smith wasn’t done. After posting the video he sent out this tweet, which received nearly 13,000 “likes” in less than a day.
