Roger Waters, the English progressive rock icon best known as a co-founder and driving force front-man of Pink Floyd, turned his performance at the Desert Trip music festival Sunday nigh into a political diatribe.
The primary object of Waters’ wrath, though not his sole one, was Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
While Waters played the Pink Floyd classic “Pigs (Three Different Ones),” an image of the New York businessman was displayed on a giant screen above the stage with the word, “charade,” as a huge pig-shaped balloon floated overhead, The Associated Press reported..
On the balloon was another image of the candidate with the words “Ignorant, lying, racist, sexist pig.”
For those festival-goers who were too stoned to make the connection, the words “Trump is a pig” flashed across the screen.

During a performance of another Pink Floyd classic, “Another Brick in the Wall (Part II),” Waters made reference to Trump’s desire to build a wall at the southern border. Fifteen school-aged children appeared onstage dressed in t-shirts proclaiming “Derriba el muro” — Spanish for “Take down the wall.”

The performance was reminiscent of California-based rapper YG, who introduced a “song” at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April called “F**k Donald Trump.”

Near the end of his performance Waters blasted Israel and expressed his support for Palestine. Of course he did — liberals are so predictable.
“I’m going to send out all of my most heartfelt love and support to all those young people on the campuses of the universities of California who are standing up for their brothers and sisters in Palestine and supporting the BDS movement,” he said, “in the hope that we may encourage the government of Israel to end the occupation.”
