Trump made a statement about PTSD that put liberals on warpath; watch how vets have his back

Talk about grasping at straws.

Joe Biden and much of the mainstream media slammed Donald Trump for completely contrived criticism about America’s veterans.

Trump, in his casual and unscripted style, gave a long but thoughtful answer to a question about PTSD treatment that seemed — to most who bothered to hear the full response — to demonstrate a great deal of empathy for America’s veterans.

That didn’t stop Trump’s critics from making something out of nothing. No, it was worse than that, they tried to make something sinister out of something good.

In timely fashion, the mainstream media cherry-picked a sentence from his response and conducted another mass assault.

“When people come back from war and combat and they see maybe what people in this room have seen many times over — and you’re strong and you can handle it — but a lot of people can’t handle it and they see horror stories,” Trump said in a Townhall for veterans.

It was that comment that the media, and America’s Vice President, latched onto in the hopes of painting Trump a villain.

Case in point, MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin was giddy with spin:

“Where in the hell is he from?” Biden dramatically asked at a campaign stop for Hillary Clinton in Sarasota, Fla.

“I don’t think he was trying to be mean. He is just so thoroughly, completely uninformed.”

And it only took off from there. “Trump accuses veterans of being weak!” the media narrative roared.

But not so fast.

Marine Staff Sargent Chad Robichaux, who was diagnosed with PTSD after serving eight combat tours in Afghanistan, came out swinging in his defense of the Republican presidential candidate, ABC reported under the headline “Donald Trump under fire for comments on veterans with PTSD.”

“I think it’s sickening that anyone would twist Mr. Trump’s comments to me in order to pursue a political agenda,” Robichaux said. “I took his comment to be thoughtful and understanding of the struggles many veterans have, and I believe he is committed to helping them.”

Trump campaign surrogate Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn also released a statement expressing profound disgust with the media.

“The media continues to operate as the propaganda arm of Hillary Clinton, as they took Mr. Trump’s words out of context in order to deceive voters and veterans — an appalling act that shows they are willing to go to any length to carry water for their candidate of choice.”

Trump supporters on social media also did their best to fight back:

In the end, veterans will have the last word:
