A young disabled Marine veteran decided to wear his “Hillary for Prison 2016” t-shirt to class at a junior college, and the reaction was surprising.
David (Moose) McArthur III, a Marine lance corporal, was wounded six years ago in Afghanistan. His vehicle struck an improvised explosive device, which left him with constant headaches and traumatic brain injury.
He’s now working toward a degree at St. Louis Community College.
McArthur spoke to Independent Journal Review about the day he wore the t-shirt.
“I was wearing my ‘Hillary for Prison 2016’ shirt. I wear the shirt for two reasons: One, to stir the pot. And two, because I actually believe that Hillary is not above the law and should be accountable for her actions and pay the piper for her wrongdoings just like every other criminal.”
To his surprise, fellow students — made up mostly of millennials — reacted negatively to the shirt’s message. He told IJ Review:
From the kids at the school, I mostly got “looks.” A couple of smiles.
One girl asked me if I would rather have a racist as a president.
An African American boy told me that Trump supported slavery.
Another girl told me her boyfriend was Mexican and that Trump was going to send him back to Mexico. But when I asked where he was born, she said, “Texas.”
The most ridiculous student reaction came from someone who apparently hasn’t been keeping track of what’s going on with Clinton’s emails and the Clinton Foundation. McArthur told the publication:
The best one of the day was a young man with a nice set of headphones and an iPhone. He told me that I shouldn’t wear that shirt because it was offensive.
And I asked why.
He said that Hillary had done nothing to warrant her going prison, and that if Trump gets elected he’s going to take his mom off welfare.
But the biggest surprise of them all was how the faculty reacted.
To my surprise, out of five teachers who said anything, only one comment was negative. The comments ranged from ‘nice shirt’ to ‘I was hoping that didn’t say Hillary for president.’
The negative comment was simply, “That shirt is just not right.”
Go figure. Apparently St. Louis Community College decided to buck the trend of hiring mostly leftist loon faculty. Refreshing.
