“Give it a rest.”
Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren had these four simple words for singer and liberal icon Barbra Streisand, who threatened to leave the U.S. if Donald Trump is elected president.
“She can sing but now she’s in the threatening business,” Van Susteren said Tuesday on “On the Record.”
“Streisand is the latest big celebrity to threaten the rest of us mere Americans,” and Van Susteren wants her to “give it a rest.”
The Fox News host noted that the repetitive cycle happens “every four years when we suddenly hear from the celebrities from the comfort of their Malibu homes” as they threaten to leave the country if a certain politician is elected. “And that threat is apparently supposed to upset you,” she said.
Streisand has threatened to move to Canada or Australia if Trump is elected, “as though that really matters to the rest of us, or even to the poor languishing in the inner urban areas who can’t afford to buy her music.”
Van Susteren criticized Streisand, a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton, for her whining attitude.
“She does have a beautiful voice, but that’s not how to use it,” she said. “We need people who are really working to help, not just making idle threats and quitting when things don’t go their way.”
