The total lack of transparency in the Obama administration has become such a joke that even one of its own spokesmen can’t keep a straight face.
At the opening of the State Department’s press briefing Thursday, spokesman Mark Toner welcomed interns seated in the rear before making this statement:
“It’s good to see you in this exercise in transparency and democracy,” he said, then burst out in laughter.
A reporter, sounding very much like The Associated Press’ Matt Lee, put it all in proper perspective with this rejoinder:
“Is that what it is? I thought it was an exercise in spin and obfuscation.”
